Firmware

A firmware update can resolve issues that the previous firmware version may have and improve its current performance.

To Upgrade

IMPORTANT: To prevent upgrade failures, please read the following before proceeding with the upgrade process

  • Please upgrade firmware from the local TP-Link official website of the purchase location for your TP-Link device, otherwise it will be against the warranty. Please click here to change site if necessary.
  • Please verify the hardware version of your device for the firmware version. Wrong firmware upgrade may damage your device and void the warranty. (Normally Vx.0=Vx.6/Vx.8 (eg:V1.0=V1.6/V1.8);   Vx.x0=Vx.x6/Vx.x8 (eg:V1.20=V1.26/V1.28)

  • Do NOT turn off the power during the upgrade process, as it may cause permanent damage to the product.
  • To avoid wireless disconnect issue during firmware upgrade process, it's recommended to upload firmware with wired connection unless there is no LAN/Ethernet port on your TP-Link device.
  • It's recommended that users stop all Internet applications on the computer, or simply disconnect Internet line from the device before the upgrade.
  • Use decompression software such as WinZIP or WinRAR to extract the file you download before the upgrade.

This firmware contains important updates for HomeShield Pro, and we strongly recommend all HomeShield Pro users to upgrade to this firmware.

 

New Features/Enhancement:

1. Added Wireguad VPN feature;

2. Added Advanced features into AP mode;

3. Added flow control switch;

4. Added IoT network feature;

5. Supported setting the local DNS server as the main DNS server;

6. Optimized VPN client feature;

7. Optimized web UI of some advanced functions;

8. Improved device security and stability;

9. Support retrieving the PPPoE dial-up settings from the old router;

10. Improved the accuracy of Client Type Identification in the offline state;

11. Enhancing the Parental Control feature to support blocking traffic in more scenarios.

 

Bug Fixed:

1. Fixed the bug that caused Apple devices to be recognized as "unknown" devices at times;

2. Fixed some bugs related to the HomeShield feature, which enhances the stability and reliability of the network security function;

3. Fixed several bugs related to device stability;

4. Fixed the bug that Ring Chime Pro can't work under certain scenarios;

5. Fixed the bug that AP Steering doesn't work occasionally under certain scenarios;

6. Fixed the bug that there is a delay in connecting to the TP-Link cloud after restarting;

7. Fixed the bug that IoT Network works abnormal when working in ap mode in a specific scenario.

 

NOTE:

1. This firmware can not be degraded to the previous version;

2. To fully utilize all HomeShield Pro features, we recommend that you download and install the latest version of the Tether app on your mobile device.

For Android users: Recommended Tether version 4.1.23 or later

For iOS users: Recommended Tether version 4.1.11 or later

Một số firmware chính thức của các sản phẩm TP-LINK có thể được thay thế bằng firmware của bên thứ ba chẳng hạn như DD-WRT. TP-LINK không cung cấp vấn đề hỗ trợ kĩ thuật và đảm bảo hiệu năng cũng như tính ổn định của firmware bên thứ ba. Khi sản phẩm bị hư hại do sử dụng firmware của bên thứ 3 thì chế độ bảo hành sản phẩm sẽ bị vô hiệu.
