Firmware

A firmware update can resolve issues that the previous firmware version may have and improve its current performance.

To Upgrade

IMPORTANT: To prevent upgrade failures, please read the following before proceeding with the upgrade process

  • Please upgrade firmware from the local TP-Link official website of the purchase location for your TP-Link device, otherwise it will be against the warranty. Please click here to change site if necessary.
  • Please verify the hardware version of your device for the firmware version. Wrong firmware upgrade may damage your device and void the warranty. (Normally Vx.0=Vx.6/Vx.8 (eg:V1.0=V1.6/V1.8);   Vx.x0=Vx.x6/Vx.x8 (eg:V1.20=V1.26/V1.28)

  • Do NOT turn off the power during the upgrade process, as it may cause permanent damage to the product.
  • To avoid wireless disconnect issue during firmware upgrade process, it's recommended to upload firmware with wired connection unless there is no LAN/Ethernet port on your TP-Link device.
  • It's recommended that users stop all Internet applications on the computer, or simply disconnect Internet line from the device before the upgrade.
  • Use decompression software such as WinZIP or WinRAR to extract the file you download before the upgrade.

  1. New Features/Enhancement：
    (1)Added the support of TP-LINK Tether v2.0;
    (2)Improved the compatibility with DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) devices and enhanced the overall performance;
    (3)Fixed the wireless compatibility issue with Apple Macbook Air, Macbook Pro, and Mac mini;
    (4)Added the IPTV option;
    (5)Added the SIP ALG;
    (6)Added a new login domain “tplinkwifi.net” for we b-based management and "tplinklogin.net" is still available;
    (7)Added the support for multiplayer online gaming with XBOX;
    (8)Improved security mechanism;
    (9)Improved the UPNP module function;

  2. Bug Fixed：
    (1)Users cannot login by remote management in PPPoE connection;
    (2)PS3 may not detect the router as a UPnP device;
    (3)DynDNS does not update properly occasionally;
    (4)Some minor issues with IPv6;
    (5)The USB Storage is not accessible when "Access shared storage with password" is enabled;
    (6)The sent packets of wireless statistics is always 0;
    (7)Dyndns will display "succeed"even with the wrong username and password.

Notes:

For Archer C5 V1.20
(1)The router will reset after upgrading this firmware.
(2)The configure file of old firmware cannot be used in this firmware.

TP-LINK không cung cấp vấn đề hỗ trợ kĩ thuật và đảm bảo hiệu năng cũng như tính ổn định của firmware bên thứ ba. Khi sản phẩm bị hư hại do sử dụng firmware của bên thứ 3 thì chế độ bảo hành sản phẩm sẽ bị vô hiệu.
