Why does TP-Link require my email address?
When you create an TP-Link ID, an email address will be required.Your TP-Link ID uses email addresses to sign you in to your account with TP-Link devices or TP-Link Apps like Kasa App, Tapo App, Tether App, Deco App, tpMiFi App, etc.and provide the related services.
Most of the TP-Link devices can still function properly without using the App or TP-Link ID, but the Deco series , Kasa series and Tapo series devices must be set up and managed through the Apps.
With TP-Link ID, you can:
- Verifying your account.
- Resetting your password.
- Remote management of your TP-Link devices.
