TP-Link unveils the world's first complete Wi-Fi 8 portfolio at IFA 2026 

The new Archer 8 Ultra and Deco 8 Ultra combine next-generation Wi-Fi technology with TP-Link's new StabilityEngine to deliver more stable and reliable connections at home. Regional pre-orders for the Archer 8 Ultra open on September 30, 2026. 

In connection with IFA 2026, TP-Link is introducing two products in its new Wi-Fi 8 portfolio: the Archer 8 Ultra router and the Deco 8 Ultra mesh system. Both products are based on the upcoming Wi-Fi standard IEEE 802.11bn and simultaneously introduce TP-Link's new Wi-Fi 8 StabilityEngine. 

With the Archer 8 Ultra and Deco 8 Ultra, TP-Link continues to build on its Wi-Fi 8 work, combining the upcoming standard with in-house hardware and software. With the new products, TP-Link aims to address some of the challenges that typically affect home networks – from poor coverage far from the router and many devices competing for network capacity, to interference from other wireless signals. 

Central to both products is the Wi-Fi 8 StabilityEngine, which brings together a range of technologies focused on strengthening coverage, handling many simultaneous devices, and reducing interference.  

Archer 8 Ultra and Deco 8 Ultra at a glance 
Archer 8 Ultra is a tri-band Wi-Fi 8 router with combined wireless speeds of up to 19 Gbit/s and wired connections of up to 10 Gbit/s. The router comes with 18 built-in antennas designed to help deliver strong, stable coverage throughout the home. 

Deco 8 Ultra is a tri-band Wi-Fi 8 mesh system with combined wireless speeds of up to 22 Gbit/s* and wired connections of up to 10 Gbit/s. A system of three Deco units can cover up to approximately 910 m² and supports more than 200 connected devices. 

Where form meets function 
Although the router's placement has a major impact on wireless coverage, many routers still end up hidden away because of their design. TP-Link has set out to change that with the Archer 8 Ultra and Deco 8 Ultra, both of which are designed to sit visibly on display in the home without disrupting the décor – making it easier to place them where the connection is best. 

The Archer 8 Ultra features a minimalist, architectural design with a two-part front and a subtle pattern that shifts depending on the light. The classic indicator lights have also been replaced with a soft glow that shows the router's status. 

The Deco 8 Ultra builds on the familiar Deco design with a compact shape, a matte finish, and rounded edges. 

“We stopped thinking of the router as classic network equipment and instead started designing with the home in mind. When a router has a design people actually want to display out in the open, it also ends up where it performs best,” says Gary Chang, Lead Industrial Designer at TP-Link. 

Wi-Fi 8 with a focus on stability 
While earlier generations of Wi-Fi have largely been associated with higher top speeds, stability and more consistent performance under the conditions where the network is actually used are a key focus of Wi-Fi 8. 

TP-Link's Wi-Fi 8 StabilityEngine combines a number of new technologies, each contributing to a more stable connection: 

• Enhanced Long Range (ELR) and Distributed Resource Units (DRU) improve coverage in the farthest corners of the home and the connection to devices located far from the router or with low transmission power. 

• Non-Primary Channel Access (NPCA) helps keep the network responsive when many devices are connected at the same time. 

• Unequal Modulation (UEQM) and new Modulation and Coding Schemes (MCS) help maintain more consistent data transfer, even when the connection is affected by interference. 

Experience the new products at IFA 2026 
Both the Archer 8 Ultra and Deco 8 Ultra will be showcased at IFA 2026 in Berlin, where visitors can experience the two new Wi-Fi 8 products at TP-Link's booth in Hall 7.2C, stand 101. 

TP-Link will also present the Archer 8 Ultra and Deco 8 Ultra at a global online launch event on September 30, 2026, where TP-Link will share more about the Wi-Fi 8 portfolio. 

Price and availability 
TP-Link's Wi-Fi 8 portfolio will subsequently be expanded with additional mesh systems, travel routers, and accessories, with planned availability as follows: 

• Deco 8 (Wi-Fi 8 mesh system) – Q1 2027 

• Roam 8 (Wi-Fi 8 travel router) – Q2 2027 

• Wi-Fi 8 range extenders and adapters – Q2 2027 

Regional pre-orders for the Archer 8 Ultra open on September 30, 2026, in connection with TP-Link's global Wi-Fi 8 launch event. Pricing and local availability for the Archer 8 Ultra, Deco 8 Ultra, and other Wi-Fi 8 products will be announced at a later date.
