With KidShield, it is possible to create a profile for your kids' mobile devices to manage the time they spend online and the content they see, wherever they go. To properly manage these controls, the KidShield app needs to be installed on your child’s device.

Please Note:

  1. The KidShield Beta is Currently undergoing Beta Testing for Android Devices
  2. iOS and PC Software is currently being tested and may be released for public test soon. After KidShield is officially released, it will support many advanced parental control functions for both iOS and Android devices.
  3. Beta is only available and open to some users. While testing the features, the primary functions will be free. After the official release, users will be required to pay for the service.

Before Getting Started:

Follow the Steps Below to Create a KidShield Profile:

1. Open the Deco app and go to the Parental Controls tab; then tap  ‘+’ > KidShield Profile.

2. Use your child’s phone camera to scan the QR code generated in the app. Then follow the instructions to download and install the KidShield app on your child’s device through the app store.

(As the feature is currently in testing for Android devices, you will need to manually download and install the KidShield app to your Child’s phone via the APK file)

3. Open the KidShield app on your child’s device and tap Get Started.

4. Scan the QR code generated on the Deco app of parent’s device and create a child profile. Then follow app instructions to allow the app permissions. This will link the app on your Child’s phone with your TP-Link ID.

Please Note: Due to the Extensive Controls offered by KidShield, you will be prompted to allow a variety of different permissions. Depending on your device, some settings may be restricted – please refer to the user guide of your mobile device to allow these permissions.

5. Setup Complete:  You can see and manage your child’s device from the parent’s device. Your child can see the time schedule set by parents on the KidShield app, Kids can also request the use of the device or ask for more online time directly from the app.
