Your Tapo Robot Vacuum will generate a map of your home prior to its first cleaning. If the generated Smart Map doesn’t match your house or room type, you can customize it using the Merge Room and Divide Room features.

Merge Room

The Merge Room feature allows you to combine two rooms into one room. For example, if your bedroom is divided into 2 separate rooms on the smart map, you can merge them into one room.

Divide Room

The Divide Room feature allows you to divide one room into two. For example, if the dining room and living room are displayed as one room on the Smart Map, you can divide it into 2 separate rooms.

Merge & Divide Room

You can also Customize a room to remedy any map concerns. For example, if you don’t want the robot vacuum to clean a carpet near a door, you can assign a block zone for the carpet. Instead of using the Restricted Area feature (the robot vacuum cannot enter the room for cleaning), you can use the Divide and Merge feature to map the area where the carpet is located within a room, and then prevent the vacuum from cleaning the area.

How to use the Merge Room and Divide Room Features

  1. Open your Tapo app and select your Tapo Robot Vacuum.
  2. Tap the menu icon on the top right corner.
  3. Tap “Maps”.

4. Select the map you want to edit.
