How do I renew my computer’s IP Address (Windows XP/Vista/7/8/8.1/10)?

For Windows XP

Step 1

Click Start and select Run. Type CMD and select OK.

Step 2

Type ipconfig /release in the prompt window and hit Enter.

Step 3

Type ipconfig /renew in the prompt window and hit Enter.

For Windows Vista and 7

Step 1

Click Start, type CMD into the search box, and select Enter.

Step 2

Type ipconfig /release in the prompt window and hit Enter.

Step 3

Type ipconfig /renew in the prompt window and hit the Enter.

For Windows 8/8.1/10

Step 1

Hold Windows Key + R

Step 2

Type CMD and select OK.

Step 3  

Type ipconfig /release in the prompt window and hit Enter.

Step4 

Type ipconfig /renew in the prompt window and hit Enter.
