CCTV cameras have been around for quite some time, but what exactly are they?  CCTV stands for closed-circuit television and is a system of security cameras that are used to monitor and record activity in a certain area. Now expanding to homes,  CCTV cameras provide an extra layer of security for homeowners.

  • More reliable as there is less chance of signal interference 
  • Typically offer higher quality images and recording 
  • Can handle more cameras on one system compared to wireless 

Cons: 

  • Requires professional installation and can be expensive 
  • May require drilling holes in walls for cabling

How can it help in certain circumstances 

A wired CCTV camera is handy for those who want a reliable and high-quality surveillance system, especially for larger properties or buildings. 

Wireless Security Cameras

A wireless security camera, on the other hand, operates on a wireless network and transmits the footage to a storage device, such as a DVR or NVR.

Pros:

  • Easier and less expensive to install
  • Can be easily moved to different locations

Cons:

  • Prone to signal interference which can affect image quality and recording
  • Limited camera connections on one system compared to wired

How can it help in certain circumstances?

Where should CCTV signs be placed?
