What is Mate Switch?

The Mate Switch (Tapo S310D) is a wall-mounted “smart remote” for lighting combining with Wi‑Fi + Bluetooth Mesh technology. It keeps the familiar, tactile feel of a traditional switch while unlocking full smart control—from dynamic colors to remote control.

Unlike a standard wall switch, it does not cut power to your lights on the same circuit, so they stay online and ready to respond at any time.

How does it work?

For Bluetooth Mesh lights (e.g., Tapo L730)

Control is delivered over the Bluetooth Mesh connection. Lights remain responsive even without Wi‑Fi, delivering greater reliability and faster response than cloud‑dependent solutions.

For other smart lights

Use Smart Actions to create custom automations—set lighting scenes, schedules, and routines that match your daily life.
