Digital art, AI, and design entries can win cash prizes and Tapo smart home products

Toronto, ON — (August 5, 2026) - Tapo, the consumer smart home brand from TP-Link, has launched "Bot Your Cam," a Canada-wide creative challenge inviting consumers to reimagine the Tapo C216 camera as an original robot character.

Using AI, Photoshop, digital art, memes, 3D design, or actual prototypes, participants are encouraged to transform the camera into anything they can dream up, from anime heroes to gaming mechs, cyberpunk characters, and everything in between.

"Bot Your Cam is less a contest and more an invitation," said Benjamin Liu, General Manager at TP-Link Canada Inc. "Our cameras are a serious part of how Canadians protect their homes, but we wanted to show there's a playful side to smart home tech too. This is a chance for our community to put their own creative spin on our hardware,  and honestly, we can't wait to see what they come up with."

How It Works: Entrants download the official Tapo C216 image, customize it digitally, and submit their creation through the contest page on the Tapo website. Participants are also encouraged to share their bots using #BotMyCam and tag @tplinkcanada on Instagram and @tplink.ca on Facebook. Five finalists will be selected, with the community then voting to crown Canada's top "Bot Your Cam" creation.

Prizes include:

• Grand Prize: $100 Visa gift card, plus a Tapo C216, Tapo DL110 smart lock, and Tapo D235 video doorbell
• Runner-Up: $100 Visa gift card and a Tapo C216
• Third Place: A Tapo C216
• Every entrant will receive an exclusive discount code toward their next Tapo purchase

The top entries will also be featured across Tapo Canada’s social media channels.

Creators looking for inspiration, feedback or a place to share works in progress can join the official Bot Your Cam Discord community, where they can connect with other participants and take part in voting.
