    • Able to proactively cold call into net new accounts in order to drive new business

    Human Resources Specialist

    Job Description:

    The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the HR department, primarily focusing, and providing HR strategic support for TP-Link Canada. This position will be the first point of contact for employee relations matters, recruitment and performance management functions and will provide support to the management. You will work both independently and on collaborative work in a fast-paced environment. A strong problem solver, you will be a self-starter with strong attention to detail and a passion to learn and grow within the company. You will be reporting to the General Manager, essential job functions and duties include but are not limited to the following:


    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Provide consultation and coaching on issues related to employee relations, workforce planning, recruitment and selection, talent and performance management, compensation, and organizational development.
    • Coordinate and facilitate recruitment activities including pre-screening, testing, scheduling interviews, reference checks and document signing
    • Monitor employee climate to identify issues/trends; counsel managers on identifying issues and implementing corrective actions, while also seeing opportunities to increase engagement.
    • Gather, analyze, and interpret HR related data for report generation and management decision making
    • Provide accurate, timely responses to employee and management inquiries regarding policies, employment legislation, benefits, and payroll
    • Assist with the employee contract renewal process with the operations team to include identification of high potentials as well as below standard performers, succession planning, promotions; creates appropriate action plans
    • Provide accurate, timely responses to employee and management inquiries regarding policies and employment legislation including both Federal and Provincial legislation
    • Work closely with General Manager to continuously improve the level of HR support provided to the teams through programs
    • Host employee recognition events, annual holiday event and team spirit events
    • Represent the Company at community events, including job fairs
    • Maintain up-to-date employee records and files (electronic)
    • Calculate the payroll calculation bi-weekly
    • Function as the administrative core for the HR department
    • Partner with Manager of Training, scheduling, and setting up new hire orientation and refresher training.
    • Handle special projects delegated by the General Manager
    • Maintain knowledge of applicable employment legislation
    • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and act as a health safety representative of the management
    • Understand all company policies and procedures relating to the employee’s role within the company
    • Maintain any applicable licenses and certifications

     

    Requirements & Qualifications

    • University degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
    • CHRP designation is an asset
    • 2-5 years human resources specialist or equivalent experience in IT industry
    • Meticulous attention to details and highly organized
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
    • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities to use time efficiently
    • Strong collaboration and team building skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
    • Knowledge of trends, best practices, legislation change and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law
