How to view continuous recordings of Tapo & Kasa Cameras/Doorbell on Tapo app
Introduction
This article provides step-by-step instructions for viewing continuous recordings of your Tapo/Kasa cameras and doorbells in the Tapo app.
Requirements
- Download the Tapo app by visiting the Google Play Store, App Store, or by scanning the QR code.

- A microSD card or a Tapo Hub is required to enable continuous recording feature for your camera or doorbells.
Configuration
Step 1. On the Tapo app Home page, tap your camera/doorbell device card to enter live view page, then tap the gear icon in the top right to open Device Settings.
Step 2. Tap Storage & Recording and enable Local Recording.

Step 3. Go to the Recording Schedule page to adjust the schedules for both Continuous Recording and Detection Recording. When you're done, tap the check icon in the top right corner to save your changes.
Note: Battery‑powered cameras and doorbells (such as Tapo C420, C400, D230, and others) do not support Continuous Recording. As a result, the Recording Schedule option will not appear for these devices.

Step 4. On the camera’s Live View page, tap Playback & Download, select the SD Card icon on the Playback page, select the date, and then you can drag the timeline to view the continuous recordings.
