Part 1. Know about your adapter
This section introduces the adapter's package content and appearance.
1. Unpack Your adapter
Your package contains an adapter, a USB 3.0 Cradle and installation guides.
USB 3.0 Cradle: a rectangular plastic base designed to enhance Wi-Fi reception. It features a 1-meter cable extending from the back, ending in a USB connector that you should plug into your computer. On the top of the cradle, there is a small recessed rectangular port for inserting the adapter.
2. Appearance Introduction
The adapter is a small, lightweight device (like a thumb drive) with a smooth plastic body and a metal USB connector at one end to plug into the computer. On the front, it features a multi-angle adjustable antenna, which can be unfolded and angled for optimal performance.
Part 2. Get Started
Step 1. Connect your Adapter to a Computer
Insert the adapter into a USB port on your computer directly. Unfold the antenna and adjust it upright for optimal performance.
Note: You can also connect your adapter to your computer via the USB Cradle. Insert the adapter into the USB port on the top of the cradle and connect the USB connector of the cradle to your computer.
Step 2. Install Drivers
a. Go to My Computer or This PC.
b. Double click the TP-Link CD-ROM then run SetupInstall.exe to install driver.
Note:
• If you cannot find the setup program, please download the driver at www.tp-link.com/support. You can also check for new releases and download the latest drivers on this website.
• If an unknown publisher message pops up, select Yes to continue.
• If Windows User Account Control requires admin credentials, type user name and password of your Windows administrator account.
Step 3. Join a Wireless Network
a. Click the network status icon on the taskbar.
b. Select your Wi-Fi network, click Connect, and enter the password when prompted.
