How to configure VLAN ID for your internet connection on wireless router (For Models support the Quick Setup Guide)

Setting up VLAN ID in the Quick Setup Guide. (not all models support VLAN ID in the Quick Set-Up Guide)

Below is the configuration instructions based on an Archer C50 AC1200 Wireless Dual Band Router. 

  1. Open your web browser and navigate to tplinkwifi.net
  2. Click on “Quick Setup” in the left menu and press next to continue – you will be guided through the setup and configuration steps for the router.
  3. On the Quick Setup – WAN Connection Type page select your internet connection type, at the bottom of the page tick “More Advanced Settings” this will enable the IPTV Mode that is often associated with VLAN ID.

    (required settings are highlighted in red in the below screenshot)
    • For Australian customers that require VLAN ID 100 please select ”Australia-NBN” from the dropdown box and press next to continue.
    • For New Zealand customers the require VLAN ID 10 please select “New Zealand-UFB” from the dropdown box and press next to continue.
    • If your ISP requires an alternate VLAN ID number please select “Custom” from the dropdown, you now will be able to manually set the VLAN ID number, enter into the desired fields and press next to continue.
  4. Continue through the rest of the setup guide to configure your Wi-Fi and or other settings.

Manually Setting up VLAN ID using the Advanced Menus.

  • Below is the configuration instructions based on an Archer C9 AC1900 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router.

  1. Open your web browser and navigate to tplinkwifi.net
  2. Click on the “Advanced” tab in the top menu.
  3. Under the “Network” section on the left menu click on “IPTV
  4. On the IPTV settings page, at the middle of the page tick “Enable TPTV” this will enable the IPTV Mode that is often associated with a VLAN ID.

    In the Mode: selection please choose “Custom” from the dropdown, you now will be able to manually set the VLAN ID number, enter into the desired fields and press save.
