Archer C24, Archer C54—Upgrades for All to WiFi 5

TP-Link® today announced Archer C24 and Archer C54, two Dual Band WiFi 5 Routers with speeds from AC750 to AC1200. They’ve inherited the essentials from Archer C2 and Archer C5 families, respectively, and both feature a minimalistic compact design with 4 antennas. These two products come with a much higher performance/price ratio than other WiFi 5 routers in the market. This is especially true for Archer C24, as the most affordable AC router from TP-Link it is moving the industrial bar of what an essential apartment WiFi should be.

Archer C24 and C54 utilize an advanced semi-conductor manufacturing technique that helps them provide reliable dual-band WiFi. They are also both equipped with Parental Controls, Guest Network, QoS, and more for increased user-friendliness. Compact, minimalist designs conserve space and complement any décor. The WiFi 5 router with higher performance—Archer C54—uses Beamforming and MU-MIMO technologies to deliver a premium WiFi experience. Beamforming detects the location of your connected devices and concentrates signal towards them to optimize wireless connections, and MU-MIMO enables simultaneous communication with 2 devices to reduce latency.

    Smooth Dual Band Connection

Archer C24 and C54 utilize dual-band architecture, providing 2× more bandwidth than a single band router and connecting more devices. A crystal-clear 5 GHz band enables smooth HD and 4K streaming for demanding devices while a far-reaching 2.4 GHz band ensures reliable connection for less data-intensive tasks.

“Upgrading from a single band to a dual-band router feels like more than doubling the bandwidth,” said the engineer behind the two products, “the real world is packed with 2.4 GHz interference—TVs, computers, clocks, and ovens are all emitting radio waves in the 2.4 GHz range, slowing down 2.4 GHz WiFi. Getting a dual-band WiFi router means not just faster speed but also less signal interference.” This can make upgrading to a router with 5 GHz feel remarkably fast.

Featuring 4× diagonally-distributed antennas, Archer C24 and C54 transmit in every direction and expand WiFi coverage for buffer-free streaming and lag-free downloads. Archer C54 also equips Beamforming technology, which concentrates signal strength towards connected devices to optimize WiFi coverage.

    Versatile Functions and Easy Management

Archer C24 and C54 both sport versatile built-in functions. With Parental Controls, parents can block inappropriate content and set time limits for their children’s devices. Quality of Service helps prioritize specific devices for optimal performance. Guest Network builds a separate network for guests, protecting the privacy of the main network. SPI firewall (on by default) prevents spoofing attacks.

The intuitive Tether app and web management interface simplifies getting all these features working into swiping through a few configuration guide pages.

    Multi-Mode, IPv6, and More

Archer C24 and C54 have 3 different working modes for greater flexibility. In addition to the router mode, they can work as APs to create WiFi for an existing router or help stably expand your WiFi to another room via an Ehternet cable, or as range extenders for wireless network extension.

When connecting to an IPTV, performance can be further optimized through IGMP, Bridge, or VLAN tag functions to accelerate stream forwarding abilities. The LED on the respective front panels can be turned off so it won’t be disturbing at night. TP-Link routers, Archer C24 and C54 included, all support IPv6, the latest Internet Protocol for better safety and performance.

    Compact yet Stable

Archer C24 and C54 were designed following the minimalistic aesthetic. Beautifully carved, wave-like front panels and white square bodies ensure simplicity to match any home. The adjustable antennas and mountable designs allow the user to better position them for optimal WiFi coverage.

Thanks to the highly-integrated chip, Archer C24 and C54 are each palm-sized routers, but offer connections every bit as stable as their larger counterparts. Archer C54 has passed through the standard series of TP-Link quality tests, including the 168h UES test, continuous memory reading and writing test, harsh environment storing test, and more.
