Setup Guide
Tapo C246D Indoor/Outdoor Dual Lens Pan/Tilt Security Camera
Welcome to the setup guide.
To ensure equal access for all users, we offer this accessible setup guide. This guide is designed to meet accessibility needs, enabling a successful setup. It will introduce the appearance of your camera, including its ports, buttons, and labels, and then guide you through the setup process.
Step 1. Know about your camera
In this section, we will describe the camera's appearance, including its ports, buttons, and labels.
1. You can find your camera and power adapter in the package.
Power Adapter: The power adapter is usually a rectangular or square block with a cord on one end that plugs into the power port to power it on.
2. Next, place your camera on a horizontal surface, such as on a shelf or desktop. Find the wider, heavier base. Set the camera so this base sits flat on the surface.
To ensure the camera is placed correctly, you should position it with the camera lens facing forward. The side that has a USB Type-C power port should face backward.
3. After positioning your camera correctly, we will introduce the ports, buttons, and labels on your device in a certain order.
Lens: For capturing things within its view. The top pan/tilt lens features automatic pan and tilt to follow motion or shift focus between different areas as needed. The bottom wide-angle lens is fixed in place but supports manual adjustment for the best viewing angle.
System LED: It is above the Pan/Tilt lens. It shows your camera status. You can check the camera status on the app.
White Light LEDs: For creating colorful images at night. One is to the right of the top pan/tilt lens, and the other two flank the bottom wide‑angle lens.
IR LEDs: For creating black-and-white images at night. One is to the right of the top white light LED, and the other two are positioned just below the lower white light LEDs.
Microphone: For capturing your voice. It is right below the bottom wide-angle lens.
Find the silicone cover on the camera's right side and open the cover to find the reset button on the left and microSD card slot on the right.
Reset: While the camera is on, press and hold the Reset button for at least 5 seconds to reset the camera's Wi-Fi settings, and press and hold the Reset button for at least 10 seconds to factory reset the camera.
microSD card slot: While facing the right side of the camera, insert a microSD card with the notch on the right side.
Turn to the back side of your camera. You can find the speaker and the USB Type-C power port down below.
Speaker: For producing sound, allowing you to hear the audio.
USB Type-C Power Port: For connecting the camera to the power source using the power adapter.
On the bottom of the wider, heavier camera base, you can find the product label.
Product label: The product label is on the bottom of the camera base through laser engraving.
