Q1: How many VIGI Cameras can be managed by the VIGI VMS?

A: Currently, the free version of VIGI VMS can support the management of up to 256 channels.

*If further expansion is needed please reach out to TP-Link for a customized VMS.

Q2: How many accounts can I create?

A: You can create One super admin account and Fifty user account.

Q3: What operating systems are supported by VIGI VMS?

A: Currently, VIGI VMS (including VMS Service Manager and VMS PC Client) work with several versions of the Windows operating system (Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows11, & Windows Server 2008)

Q4: Can I access the VMS Web Portal on a non-Windows system?

A: Yes, VIGI VMS can be accessed through a Web-based portal that is not based on a specific OS. However, for advanced video playback through the web portal a special web plugin would be needed, which can only be installed a supported Windows OS.

Q5: What Browsers are supported by the Web Portal?

A: All browsers should work but we recommend Google, Edge, and Firefox. It is also recommended to keep your browser updated and working on its latest version.

Q6: Do I need a dedicated graphics card for the host running VMS Server?

A: Generally, the performance of integrated graphics on Intel processors from the 10th generation onwards are good enough for video playback. However, Installing a dedicated graphics card will improve video decoding and performance.  We recommend NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards.

Q7: Could VIGI VMS work with cloud service at the same time?

A: No. After the VIGI device is connected to the VIGI VMS system, it will be automatically dropped from the TP-Link cloud. At this time, it is not possible to use VIGI APP or VIGI Security Manager to manage the device remotely.

Q8: Can VIGI VMS manage third-party ONVIF devices?

A: No, VIGI VMS is designed for a VIGI Solution. It is unable to manage third-party devices directly. However, it is possible to add third-party cameras to the VIGI NVR first, and then indirectly manage the third-party cameras by managing the NVR through the VMS.
