TP-Link Unveils Wi-Fi 8 and AI-Powered Networking Roadmap for Asia Pacific

TP-LINK LAUNCHES WI-FI 8 FOR ASIA PACIFIC FROM MALAYSIA, UNVEILS AI-POWERED NETWORKING VISION FOR THE REGION

At the TP-Link APAC B2B Summit 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, TP-Link launched its Wi-Fi 8 technology and outlined its AI ecosystem roadmap, highlighting its continued commitment to advancing connectivity and AI innovation across the region.

MALAYSIA, 15 SEPTEMBER 2026 - Organisations across Asia Pacific are relying more heavily than ever on cloud platforms, AI tools and a growing web of connected devices to run day-to-day operations, and the networks carrying that load are being tested like never before. It is against this backdrop that TP-Link - a global provider of reliable networking devices and smart home products, consistently ranked as the world’s top provider of Wi-Fi devices - brought together 1,489 guests from 18 countries and regions for the TP-Link APAC B2B Summit 2026, held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre under the theme “Together We Connect the Future”, where it officially launched Wi-Fi 8 for the first time in Asia Pacific.

“Technology is moving faster than ever, from AI and AI agents to Wi-Fi 7 and the now-launched Wi-Fi 8, changing the way people, businesses and industries connect,” said Mr Brian Dong, Vice President of TP-Link Asia-Pacific.

Built on the upcoming IEEE 802.11bn standard, TP-Link’s Wi-Fi 8 technology is engineered around its Wi-Fi 8 StabilityEngine, designed to strengthen coverage, manage congestion and reduce interference so that connections remain consistent even as more devices share the same network. At the Summit, TP-Link showcased the Archer 8 Ultra router and Deco 8 Ultra mesh Wi-Fi system, while giving APAC partners an early preview of its forthcoming Omada Wi-Fi 8 platform. Further product specifications and commercial availability details will be announced through regional channels.

Beyond Wi-Fi 8, TP-Link is expanding its integrated networking and surveillance portfolio with the Fusion Pro Series. By bringing Omada Network SDN and Omada Guard VMS capabilities together, Fusion Pro enables businesses to manage their network and surveillance infrastructure through one platform. The portfolio includes the Fusion 2.5G and extends across the wider Fusion Gateway family, comprising Fusion, Fusion Pro and Fusion Max Series models, providing businesses with options to support different deployment requirements.

As networking and surveillance become more integrated, TP-Link is also looking at how AI can further enhance these environments. The company announced plans to form the Omada-VIGI AI Application Developer Alliance with AI companies, independent developers and technology partners, bringing together TP-Link’s networking and surveillance technologies with partner AI applications. The initiative aims to support the development and deployment of AI-powered solutions across real-world settings, from classrooms and retail spaces to factories and hospitality venues.

Alongside these technology developments, TP-Link is continuing to invest in the people and local capabilities needed to support its partners and customers across Asia Pacific. Mr Brian Dong noted that technology alone is not enough, pointing to the company’s continued investment in partner enablement and local talent development across the region. In Singapore, TP-Link has partnered with ITE College to train ELV industry professionals, graduating more than 300 people to date. In Malaysia, the company has signed MOUs with three universities to bring Omada networking courses and hands-on training into the classroom, with plans to expand to 12 more universities regionally.

TP-Link said it will continue to deepen its “Home Market” localisation strategy across APAC, working towards a one-hour response time for technical issues in all core markets, supported by dedicated technical account managers and a 24/7 regional support centre.

“We believe that technology can be global, but service must be local,” Mr Brian said. “We will continue to grow together with our partners, customers, and institutions across Asia Pacific.”
