There are two ways to get Virgin Broadband:

1 By fiber optic cable (through a cable modem)

2 By phone line (through a ADSL modem)

If you are not using a telephone line to connect to NTL/Virgin, that means you are using the cable modem.

Before we configure the router, please make sure the cable modem is able to connect to the Internet automatically. You can connect your computer to the cable modem directly and test it.

If everything is ok, please go on the following configuration.

To on-cable service:

Step 1: Connect your Network

1 Turn off your Cable modem, router and computer.

2 Connect the WAN port of the router to the LAN port of your Cable modem with Ethernet cable.

3 Connect the coaxial-cable (Cable Line) to the Line port of your modem.

4 Connect your computer to the LAN port of TP-Link router.

5 Power on your router and computer. Don’t power on the modem before log into the router.

Step 2: Log into the router (web-based management page)

1. Power on your router and computer , then open the web browser and type the LAN IP address of the wireless router in the address bar (default is 192.168.1.1). Press [Enter] key.

2. Type the username and password in the login window (the default username and password are both admin), then click OK.

Step 3: Configure WAN Connection Type

After login the router, click Network > WAN on the left of the web page:

If your ISP provides static IP address for you, please select Static IP as the WAN Connection Type, otherwise select Dynamic IP to get IP address automatically from your ISP.

Step4: Find the “MAC Clone” function in the submenu of “Network”, and press the “Clone MAC Address” button, then save it.

Step5: Turn off router and then turn on the cable modem, wait for all LED lights flashing stably (about two or three minutes) and then turn on the router.

If everything goes well, the Internet connection will be established.

You can surf on Internet through a cable at first, if it works, then you can test it through the wireless network.

To non-cable Service:
