Building a wireless and wired network within a home is always easy. There are many easy-to-find options—Whole Home Mesh WiFi, WiFi 6 Routers, 4G WiFi Routers, Range Extenders, Powerline Adapters, and SOHO Switches.
When it comes to building connections to places kilometers away, the situation is more complicated. The standard Ethernet cable and wireless products can only support the transmission of up to several hundred meters away.
So how do you connect your devices to networks over a long distance? Fiber and long-range WiFi is the solution.
Option 1: Flexible Fiber Connections Using Media Converters
Long-distance wired connections lend themselves towards optic fiber, combined with Media Converters, SFP Modules, and switches.
Media Converters convert data primarily between fiber (optical signal) and copper (electric signal), also called Fiber Transceivers. TP-Link offers Fast Ethernet (10/100 Mbps) and Gigabit (10/100/1000 Mbps) Media Converters to realize reliable network connections. They make the

Gigabit Media Converters—Long-Range PtP Connections with Fiber
TP-Link Gigabit Media Converters easily extend the distance of an existing gigabit network. Long-range point-to-point connections are built with the gigabit fiber converters.
