針對二層交換器的更多應用，TL-SG2008支援完整的二層功能陣容，包括802.1Q標籤VLAN、連接埠隔離、連接埠鏡像、STP/RSTP/MSTP；鏈路聚合控制協定和802.3x流量控制功能。此外，這些交換器還提供用於網路維護的進階功能，例如環回偵測、電纜診斷和 IGMP 偵聽。IGMP 偵聽確保交換器智慧地將組播流僅轉送給適當的訂閱者，而 IGMP 節流和過濾則在連接埠層級限制每個訂閱者以防止未經授權的組播存取。
