TP-Link® Launches CPE610 to Deliver Outdoor Wireless Broadband for WISPs

Shenzhen, China, Dec. 23, 2017 – TP-Link®, a leading global provider of consumer and business networking products, today announced the arrival of a new high-performance outdoor wireless product for enterprise purposes: the 5GHz 300Mbps 23dBi Outdoor CPE610. This product is built for wireless point-to-point connections over long distances, with 23 dBi directional antenna capable of transferring data at 300 Mbps on its 5 GHz frequency band. Durable hardware and a robust design allow deployment in a range of outdoor environments.

As demand for the internet grows from customers, so do the challenges of reaching them. Where environments cannot accommodate traditional wired network infrastructure, broadband providers must instead turn to wireless delivery. Fortunately, advancements in wireless broadband solutions have made WISP (wireless internet service provider) services more accessible than ever. The TP-Link Pharos series leads the way, able to effortlessly beam data between remote locations and provide broadband connectivity.

CPE610, an important addition to the TP-Link Pharos family, offers flexible deployment options, ease-of-use and stable wireless connections. Fixed wired connections over long distances are expensive to install and provide little flexibility when it comes to transmission routes. Outdoor wireless networks have no such issues, with CPE610 providing a cost effective, large scale solution.

    Enterprise Hardware Design

With 23 dBi high-gain Cassegrain directional antenna, 2×2 MIMO technology and a dedicated metal reflector, the CPE610 provides excellent beam directivity, improved latency and noise cancellation. CPE610 can achieve speeds of up to 300 Mbps, with a maximum transmission range of over 30 km. This level of performance, combined with a user-friendly design and an attractive price makes the CPE610 an ideal choice for outdoor wireless networking applications that involve long distances.

    Professional Design for Outdoor Applications

The design features of CPE610 make it both versatile and practical. Innovative snap-lock parts make assembly fast and simple. Pole mounting kits and the freedom given by three-axis alignment open up a world of flexible installation possibilities, while Passive PoE (power over Ethernet) means there’s no need for dedicated power cables.

A sturdy, robust design ensures stability in strong winds, while the Cassegrain antenna and dedicated metal reflector deliver directional, long-range data transmission. A weatherproof enclosure, along with 15 kV ESD protection and 6 kV lightning protection, ensures performance throughout the seasons, with an operating temperature range of -40°C to 70°C (-40℉ to 158℉). Compact and lightweight packaging benefits logistics, retailers and users.

    Proprietary TP-Link MAXtream TDMA Technology

As a network grows, a greater number of wireless devices compete with each other for service. Interference between wireless signals can become problematic, with the experience of end-users becoming compromised. To eliminate this possibility, TP-Link’s CPE610 uses proprietary MAXtream time division multiple access (TDMA) technology to drastically improve the wireless performance of large-scale networks in even the most demanding wireless environments.

    Advanced Centralized Management System

CPE610 comes equipped with free Pharos Control centralized management software, helping users to manage all devices in their network from a single PC, with no additional costs or special training required. Functions include automatic device discovery, status monitoring, firmware upgrades and network maintenance. An intuitive web-based interface – PharOS – provides an alternative management method, and allows professionals to access more detailed configurations.

“With TP-Link’s Pharos CPE610, our WISP customers can provide longer range wireless coverage and better service for end users,” said Pingji Li, GM of Network Business Department at TP-Link. “Cost effective and with incredible performance, this product gives any WISP the opportunity to evolve and expand in a rapidly growing market.”
