TP-Link’s New Omada Pro Range Brings Wi-Fi 7 Speeds and Powerful Security Features to Enterprise Networking

February 1, 2024 - TP-Link is expanding its range of Omada Small Business Networking solutions to include Omada Pro – The Intelligent Cloud Solution for Enterprise Networking. Omada Pro is TP-Link Omada’s enterprise-grade product line, designed to meet the high-capacity, security, and management needs of various industries. Omada Pro integrates a complete set of devices including controllers, access points, switches, and routers.

 

Omada Pro’s Cloud Management Platform for cloud-based control, and its philosophy of Software Defined Networking, make it ideal for a wide range of industries, including multi-dwelling units (MDUs), K-12 education, hospitality, public works, catering, manufacturing, shopping centres, and more.

Omada Pro BE19000 Ceiling Mount Wi-Fi 7 Access Point

 

Among the new Omada Pro range of devices is the flagship AP9778 Omada Pro BE19000 Ceiling Mount Wi-Fi 7 Access Point. Unprecedented Wi-Fi 7 speeds of 11520 Mbps on 6 GHz, 5760 Mbps on 5 GHz, and 1376 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, can be provided simultaneously, for up to 19 Gbps Wi-Fi. The device also includes two 10 Gbps Ethernet ports to ensure high throughput, and 802.3bt Power over Ethernet (PoE) for convenient deployment and installation via its ceiling mount.

As an Omada Pro device, the AP9778 offers High-Density Connectivity, and can support more than 1000* clients, and improves Wi-Fi performance in dense environments with OFDMA, BSS Colouring, and MU-MIMO functionality.

All Omada Pro Wi-Fi devices include Wireless Intrusion Detection Systems (WIDS) and Wireless Intrusion Protection Systems (WIPS) to maximise the security of Wi-Fi networks. As for the wider network, Omada Pro uses software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) technology and software-defined networking (SDN) principles to steer traffic securely and intelligently across networks of any size. Intrusion detection systems and intrusion prevention systems (IDS/IPS) are also included in Omada Pro wired devices, such as Managed Switches and 10G Routers. Intelligent Anomaly Detection and Real-Time Health Status is available for all devices.

Listening to the needs of today’s network managers, TP-Link’s Omada Pro range includes security assertion markup language (SAML) support for single sign-on (SSO).

Omada Pro currently offers Wi-Fi access points, smart and managed switches, and routers. Layer 3 aggregate switches are also in the pipeline and availability will be announced at a later date.
