Advanced features introduction of TP-Link Smart Plug in Kasa APP

Kasa APP is designed to control TP-Link Smart Plug locally and also remotely. With Kasa, we can easily control and monitor TP-Link Smart Plug wherever we are and make our home smart.

Now in this FAQ let’s introduce some advanced settings/features of Kasa.

Schedule

Here we can create an event to determine when to turn on/off the smart plug automatically.

1. Click the Schedule icon to enter its configuration page:

2. Click “+” icon to build a schedule, for example:

With the first settings in the left picture, Kasa will turn on this Smart Plug at 9:00 am every day.

With the second settings in the right picture, Kasa will turn off this Smart Plug at 9:00 pm every day.

Combined with the above two settings, Kasa will turn on the Smart Plug at 9:00 am and turn it off at 9:00 pm every day.

 

Away Mode

When in Away Mode, during the period of time, your device will be randomly turned on or off. It deters bad guys by setting your lights to turn on and off on a schedule so it seems like you’re home when you are actually away.

1. Click “Away” icon to enter its configuration page.

2. And here we set Away Mode from 4:00 pm to 5 pm every day. Click “Start” to save the settings.

With this setting, your device will be randomly turned on and off from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm every day.

 

 

Timer

With Timer settings, Kasa will turn on/off the smart plug after a period of time automatically.

With the settings in the pictures below, Kasa will turn off the Smart Plug after 30 minutes from now on.
