Dynamic Domain Name System (DDNS) is useful for your own website, FTP server, or other servers behind the Router.
This article illustrates you how to assign a fixed host and domain name to a dynamic Internet IP address.
To setup DDNS with TP-Link 11n routers, the following steps are required:
Login to 11n router’s management page. If you are not sure about how to do this, please click here.
Go to Dynamic DNS. The page will show as below.
If you DO have account from www.dyndns.org or www.comexe.cn, please go to Step 7 straightly. Otherwise, please follow these steps for how to create account.
Click on Go to register, and you´ll see the main page popped up.
Select DNS & Domain on the top of the menu. Then click on Dynamic DNS on the left hand side, and click on Create Free Hostname button.
Create the Hostname and register.
Activate the host before you configure it on the router.
Enter the User Name, Password and Domain Name. Check the Enable DDNS box and click the Login button to Login to the DDNS service.
After you go through all the steps above, the DDNS should be working properly. Then you can check the connectivity by using Nslookup on your computer or from external Internet.
